Dd is on Zinat, after having had the infection in his spine. He's been on v. strong, broad spectrum antibiotics for a month now & is to continue for another 2 weeks. but for 3 days now he's been coughing, coughing, coughing. Should I tell the ped or is it too early?

you can potentially develop another infection if the bacteria are not affected by the antibiotics that he is currently taking. it could be that the cough is viral though.

Yes, it is possible - well, my ds did when he was on antibiotics he developed a UTI...

Poor ds - but my two are both coughing madly atm, think it's doing the rounds.

When will you see the paed again?

yes, 3 days is probably too early to tell.

Seeing orthopedic surgeon again on Jan 16th, when ds gets his body cast off.

Maybe I should make an appointment with paed in the meantime?

can you phone the ward and speak to the on-call paed? I did that a lot shortly after ds's surgery...
