Alternative to "Kiddie Syrup" for ABs and painkillers?

DD has just had her tonsils and adenoids out. We were sent home yesterday with a sack of medication, all in vile "kiddie syrup". She HATES all of it and simply won't take it. I've got paracetamol in suppositories, although she is quite resistant to those but its better than the syrup. The Ibuprofen and antibiotics are both in syrup and she just WON'T take them. I phoned the hospital and they said I should speak to my GP about getting Ibuprofen suppositories and antibiotics in some other form ...... and they said "but children like that stuff". Not mine, not either of them.
DS is autistic and I don't give up easily, I don't go "oh she doesn't like it, I can't give it to her..." but I CAN'T give it to her. I will phone out of hours GP tomorrow, didn't have time today, but any ideas in the meantime or suggestions?????? Getting desperate. She cried all night last night and the night before, presumably in pain.

you've probably tried this already, but can you hide it in anything? a drink or something?

Can she eat ice lollies, how about making ice lollies with a spoon full of the strup in, the ice would also numb the pain slightly?

If we put it in milk, juice, or even yoghurt she smells it a mile off and won't touch it. Ice lollies is a good idea but not much use at bedtime etc. May try that tomorrow. The nurses struggled and she was somewhat more compliant in the hospital setting but it was still difficult.

We're going to look at the adult Ibuprofen tablets and see if we can break it up into the correct dose and crush it up. Doesn't help with the ABs which are important but they obv DO come in normal forms, not just that sweet muck, just need to speak to GP.....

I would also be interested to hear about this. DS recently had ear infection and had some awful yellow sickly antibiotics, which he HATED. Anyway, the few times we did get it down him, he went wild, and i mean literally bonkers. After looking at the label, it was absolutely crammed with E numbers and artifical sweetners, which he doesn't usually have. Now i know they prob have to make it try and taste nice, but that seems crazy, packing them with artificial ingredients.

She's 2yrs 8mos starlover. She's never liked this stuff but its never been THAT important before. She doesn't have a dummy and prob wouldn't know what to do with it, also she won't even drink her perfectly normal milky that she guzzles.... She goes completely wild when we try to syringe it in and we can get some in by getting the syringe between her teeth but not the whole dose and its very upsetting for us and she's livid with us! I would still do it though if it was effective, but she's getting so little that way and its causing so much trouble that its distressing her more than being unwell. I'm up here on the computer as she's been crying and I've had to come up to settle her.... but its only 9.30pm!!! I can see another long night ahead.
