My dd has been ill with a fever for 2 weeks now. She saw a doctor on Monday who said she now has achest infection and prescribed Amoxycilin (banana medicine) which is now horrid and suger free. She reluctantly swallows the stuff but a few minutes later retches and it all comes back up again with phlegm too. I called the nurse practitioner yesterday and she was most unhelpful but did prescribe another medicine. When I got home I realise she had prescribed me the wrong dose for DD's age so the medicine would only last 2 1/2 days not 5. We also have exactly the same problem. It goes down and comes up again.
She takes Calpol fine and Nurofen (doesn't like it but it goes down and stays down) but we cant get these other medicines into her.
We have tried everything. Holding her nose, mixing it with juice, mixing it with ice cream, everything we can think of.
Does anyone have any ideas, am going back to the docs at 11 this morning but am at the end of my tether with these constant appointments for weeks on end.
