Is it healthier to have wholemeal seeded bread with butter, or white bread with low fat spread? I am both overweight and constipated, so can't decide.

Wholemeal bread with low fat spread is NOT an option, as I don't like it anyway.

Wholemeal bread and a little bit of butter i would say. White bread is full of crap. Apparently

first option without a shadow of doubt!! There is no nutritional content really on white bread and low fat spread... wholemeal bread will help with consipation and keep your feeling full for longer... white bread too high GI makes you hungry... for constipation try a couple of dried prunes/apricots before bed time!!

If I remember correctly from my days on The South Beach Diet (and this may well be complete nonsense, please correct me someone if I'm talking b&llo*ks....) - it is better for you to eat wholemeal bread, with a bit of real butter, as the bread is better for you and the butter (fat) slows down digestion a bit so that you don't get a bloodsugar high from the carbs, and thus crave more v quickly. Does that make sense?

EXcellant! That's what I did anyway. I find I only like brown bread if it has "bits" in, and is very very fresh, and has butter on. Otherwise, it tastes like rabbit bedding.
