dd has been ill with horrible cough which is worse at night. for the last 2 nights I've had her in bed with me which has helped settle her a bit. She has been in bed since 6.40pm and just sleeps for about 10 mins then coughs and cries and cries. Have given her about 8ml of baby medised (she's 2yrs) but it hasn't help settle her..
She desperately needs some sleep to help her mend, I don't know what to do?

do you have any cough medicine that might soothe her throat a bit and stop the cough?

Have you tried propping her up with extra pillows. Also (but you'd need to check suitability for age) Vicks rubbed on her chest - both helped our 5 yr old earlier this week when she was coughing like mad.
Hope you have a better night tonight

not sure what other medicine I can give her now she's got the medised. Since I started this thread she's been quiet - so fingers crossed she's settled down a bit.

Make sure her room isnt too warm. Try a bowl of boiling water in there too.
