Toddlers Temperature

What is normal for a toddlers temperature?

DD has been poorly since last week, she seemed to perk up yesterday afternoon but has had an awful night, skin is very hot to touch and i think she might have a temperature.
She looks awful. Was supposed to be going back to nursery today and I was supposed to be goingback to work as I have been off with her since Friday.
I don't want to take her to nursery in this state, plus i don't think they will take her but work will go mad if i'm not in today.

I think 36C or 98.6 is normal temp. If she's had a temp since Fridady might be worth getting her checked at the GP to rule out an ear infection or something. It sounds like you're a difficult position. Why don't you give her some Calpol and see if she perks up enough to go to nursery? Not ideal but ...

It was something different on Friday. She had a bug and had been throwing up since Thursday night, however, since Saturday she has had a streaming cold and been general grumpy and clingy. She has now started with a hacking cough and if i can actually get her to open her mouth, I can see her throat is red raw.

Doctors wont give her antibiotics as they tld me last time that they wouldn't do it again as she had had quite a few doses due to ear infections and colds etc. I can just leave her like this though.

Have done 3 temps now and they are going up each time - 35, 36.2 and now 37.4 - she had calpol about 40 mins ago.

between 34.6 and 36.4 i think, i never really worry too much as long as dd's temp goes over 38 generally nearer 39. i just dose her up with calpol, and if that doesnt work you can give baby nurofen at the same time (but doseages and timings are different)

hope that helped.

Normal temp is between 36.5 and 37. Of the ones you have taken only the last is slightly high. Unfortunatetly with my ds he tends to head down hill as the day progresses so if it was him I would be keeping him home. Any way you can do some work from home or get someone to keep an eye on him while you go in?

Thanks.
Have finally got hold of boss. Problem is, we were meant to be going through important accounts on Friday then I wasn't in so we re-arranged for Monday, then I wasn't in, so we re-arranged for Tuesday then I wasn't in...........
Am going to call the doctors as soon as they open at 8.50 to see if i can get an appointment this morning.
She hasn't eaten a proper meal since Thursday lunch time, she wont eat anything hot so she has been having weetabix and fruit for her dinner. It was only yesterday that her throat really reared up, so that probably explains why she hasn't been eating.
