Don't give him bananas. Give him diluted apple juice. Hope he's better soon.

Talk to your pharmacist - they have a gentle laxative which can be used in babies. It encourages the fecal matter to asborb more water I believe. (The doctor Suggested it to me when my DS had constipation for a while)How much is your DD drinking - lack of fluids is what occasionally causes my DS constipation. (He eats loads of fruit and veg, but is not very good at remembering to drink enough.)

Avoid bananas and eggs and don't give too much fibre. Also too much dairy is bad but at that age consult doctor I should say.

Have you seen a doctor?

I'll get in here quick before WigWamBam...
you can buy glycerine suppositories over the counter at the chemist... they work quick, and are gentle...they are the size of a small jelly bullet.. not a super tampon (as I had imagined)!!
I tried them on myself when nothing else worked and the relief is instant... Constipation is painful

Also have you tried lactolose? you can buy that from the chemist as well, but it takes a few days to work...

As a mum of a constipated DS, please take your dd to see a doctor. If you don't get it sorted quickly it can become a nightmare. The doctor starts them off on lactulose, then adds senna to the equation. By the way, the paediatrician tells me that you would have to feed your dd a HUGE amount of bananas to make their constipation worse. The benefit of having a couple of bananas by far outweighs the downside.

just on a friend of mine's experience with her ds, she cut down on the number of tinned foods and made more of her own (you might be already doing that??) and in particular cut down on the amount of meat her ds had in his diet (I think the little bottled foods are often meat based?)
that helped her ds a lot
