Help - weak pelvic floor muscles and pregnant again!

The title says it all really. Had first child a year ago and, despite an easy birth, experienced very weak pelvic floor muscles afterwards. Although they have gradually improved to some extent since then, they are still not as they should be. Have just been referred for physio by doctor who agreed there is weakness but am now pregnant again (shock!)

Am worried as to how my pelvic floor will cope with another pregnancy and birth. Has anyone experienced similar or can anyone offer any words of advice?

Any replies most appreciated!!!

Missanon - there was an article in 'Now' magazine about three weeks ago, with a lady who strengthened hers with a pelvic floor toner. Think it was called a pelvic toner or something similar. Have a look on the web. She said it massively improved her pfmuscles. You insert it and squeeze, but you should be able to use it whilst pregnant i should think!

Hope that helps.
