I have used skype to receive files with no problems for over a year. Last week (and this week) I had a problem: does anyone know why it happened and what I can do to fix it?
The window showed the progress of the file transfer, as per usual, but when it got to 100% transferred it gave an error message of 'file transfer failed. unable to write file'. In the folder where I receive it, it is described as a PART FILE.
Help!

Was it a .exe file? Your firewall / antivirus might have blocked it.
There are some other extensions that also get blocked like .scr, .bat, .vbs etc.

Or did you run out of disk space?

They are not .exe files, just data files.
It is not a problem with space: I have been doing this for a year with no problem (I regularly clear out the folder to the recycle bin).
It may be my antivirus (Bullguard) being too efficient: it won't let me paste emoticons to e-mails anymore thesedays.
