Help! Retrieving photos from mobile phone... Bluetooth?

I used to think I could learn a technical trick or two, but clearly those days are over... I am stumped by how to get 200 precious photos off my Samsung 870 before I lose it or destroy it in a rage.

Thinking myself clever, I bought a Bluetooth USB adaptor on eBay and, after staggering about as if in the dark for some time, I have managed to work out how to file transfer a photo to my PC (one by one!). But when I look at them on the PC, there is a tiny strip of photo at the top of the image and the rest of it is just grey. Is the image too big? Is it corrupting? Should I not use 'file transfer' (frankly, it doesn't seem to give me another option). Anything I can do?

Is there any other way I can get the pics off my phone (email doesn't seem to work on it... could text message them all, but to where?)

And, ahem, have I left my computer and phone hideously insecure by fiddling about with Bluetooth settings when I don't know what I am doing. I guess I am going to have to get DH to uninstall my Bluetooth USB adaptor software, but I'd really like to get at my pics before I 'fess up to what I have been doing...

When you're doing this transfer, how are you accessing the files on your phone?

Are you using the PC Studio software from the Samsung site (or disc included in the box when you bought the phone)? Or are you using another method?

Some of the ebay bluetooths (blueteeth?) come with software that's pitched as media management software, but may not be compatible with your phone in particular.

Yes, I'd use the File Transfer option. You shouldn't have to transfer the files one by one if you're using the PC Studio software, as it bundles the files together and transfers them one after the other (without you having to individually select each one).

Grrlscout, downloaded the PC Studio software and it worked a dream. Thank you, thank you, thank you - I love you! I love Mumsnet! I even (almost) love my mobile phone again!
