Anyone ever had to extend the range of their wireless broadband? Advice urgently needed!

I'd really appreciate any advice or feedback on this.

I have a mac laptop and wireless broadband through BT Homehub.

Trouble is, the wireless doesn't quite reach my home office. We can't move the Homehub because it's linked to the freeview box.

So...I've been looking at buying the Apple Express to extend the range. Both Apple and BT have said it SHOULD work, but does anyone actually have this set-up? Or know of a better way to do it?

The signal pattern is strongly dependent on the aerial positioning. You might not need to do more than tweak the aerials?

Other options include a homeplug network to give you a wired connection in the office?

Yeah, have tried fiddling with the aerial but no joy. Thanks for your help though

Anyone else? Anyone got Apple Express?

Also your range might be reduced by interference from other networks in the vicinity. Try istumbler (or macstumbler) to see what other networks are out there on which channels. If there are others on the same channel as your network then switch to a free channel.

Oh, interference is certainly a problem I'm sure. Thanks for that!
