I had this problem the other day. Were you using it to watch clips on a webpage, or is it just in general ?

It said version 9, but when I go into my programs it has version 8 installed.

Got to go out just now, drs, optician and physio for dm but will check back later.

Thanks for trying to help LL

Also try going in to 'tools' in your web browser, select 'internet options', click on 'programs', then on 'manage add ons' which is about half way down. There are 3 or 4 drop down options, for 'used by...', 'runs without permission...'. Open each one then go down the list until you find an entry for "Shockwave Flash Object". The entry will have a file name of "flash9f.ocx" and this should be set to 'enabled'. If you have a similar entry for flash 8 then set this to disabled. Do this on each of the drop down choices.

You didn't say if you are using IE6 or 7, but if it's 6 you should upgrade to 7 for free on the microsoft website.

To see what version of Flash you currently have installed, visit This Page. It will also show which Shockwave version is installed.
To find out Flash version number, when you see
Flash - Create See About
Hover mouse over About and it will display the version number. Ideally should be 9.something

If you don't see the Flash content on that page, then check Pop-Up blockers, Ad Blockers. They can prevent Flash from functioning.
