Geeky stuff

Is it just me, or are all Dell Computers just rubbish?

Sorry, don't even feel you have to respond to this, just venting really.... I have a Dell laptop, an Inspiron, less than a yesr old and I think it is a pile of sh**e. Unfortunately, I have all my business on it now, and I can't face the hassle of shifting all the info off it and arguing w Dell about it. It gets worse and worse (constantly freezing up mostly, I am wasting HOURS each day restarting etc...).

Do Dell computers have this reputation? Am I unlucky?

(Feel free to ignore all of the above, I feel better already having ranted a bit...!)

(sigh of releif emoticon)

I used to work for Compaq and, TBH, I wouldn't chuck a wet nappy on a Dell if it were on fire.

You have my sympathies.

That said, there may be some things you could do to 'clean' up the hard drive, empty the cache and make the thing run a little better.

My PC is from Dell and I love it. No problems at all.

Our office uses Dell. In fact everywhere I've worked for the last 10 years has used Dell. I'm not aware of any significant problems at any of them.

They have a reputation for being shite according to our IT peeps at work, we bought our PC from CCL 7 years ago, they were recommeded by one of our IT bods and it's still going strong.

Another sigh of releif. Wish I'd posted a "help me buy a laptop" thread on here about a year ago though......
