free photo editing software for a Mac?

Am struggling a bit with iPhoto tbh. I'm not a professional photgrapher, or anything, have a few hundred digital photos stored on my computer, the best I've uploaded to Photobox.

I want to be able to print maybe 4 different photos on 1 sheet of paper, and edit them easily. I'd like some templates for cards/ greetings, and some simple manipulation tools would be fun. Can't find the disc that came with my camera, but didn't like that much, either!

Any ideas?

Have you got Office? If so you can use Powerpoint.

BTW you can make composites in iPhoto. I made a calendar one year. You can also adapt existing templates.

Having said that I did import the basic template into Photoshop so I didn't have to pay the Apple price, so that's not going to help you much. Sorry

ooh, yes, have got Office, could go and have a play with Powerpoint- usually just use it for lectures.

Was after something like Photoshop, I suppose, but didn't want to pay for it [scrooge emoticon]

I have used GIMP + UFRaw for NEF processing. Its comparable to Photoshop but the documentation and help is strewn all over the internet. The concepts are the same but the menu items are different. If you are following a Photoshop example in GIMP you just have to know what the corresponding shortcuts are etc… Now using mac i get adviced about this one aurorahdr.com for mac os, but i still thinking about it...
