How do you load Internet Explorer onto a Mac ?
I tried to download it but it just came up all weird and encrypted.
I would hugely appreciate any help, thanks.

why do you want internet explorer, mac has safari which does the same thing.

Use Firefox.

You can get Internet explorer for the mac but it's old and sucks.

Firefox or Safari (update to the latest 3.1.1 version though)

I find that Firefox is more stable and has fewer hissy fits on websites than Safari.. ...there are also more geeky plugins for Firefox which suits me down to the ground..

Use Safari or Firefox ... IE is just a big pile of poo and you're best off without it

Used to be a lover of Firefox, but recently got into using Safari and although I miss some of the plugins, I've started to prefer it (and things seem to load up a lot quicker - Firefox can be quite bloaty). Personal preference at the end of the day, both are good in different ways.

Oh, and interestingly, I've had no hissy fits with Safari, but had a problem with Firefox that it would crash more frequently while on Mumsnet (no other sites seemed to cause the issue) ... so that was obviously a no-goer ;)

Also, I like the way Safari integrates with the Keychain for website passwords... but dislike the way you seem to be only able to record one login & password for each site (a pain if you have multiple accounts on a site).

Swings and roundabouts...

Thank you all I have to load Internet Explorer as the Scottish Office use only this and there is an online form that has to be filled in for the farm so unless we use I.E.we are not able to get the required info in.
I phoned them up but typical jobsworth was less than helpful.

there is an expensive option....

you can load the parallels software onto your Mac (costs £50) and it allows you to split your hard drive and install Windows, so you effectively can have a Mac and a PC on the same machine.

My db does this, as there is so much software he needs to use for work which isn't available for a Mac

if this is for farm business, it could be classed as a business expense; you'd certainly be let off the VAT

yep, I run parallels as well.. ..you also need to buy a copy of windows (£100 or so depending on versions..)

Where's the online form GO?

Yep, we use VMWare Fusion - then you can just use Windows IE for that. Top tip: buy XP not Vista for the dark side

I'd second that.. ..XP works and doesn't suck is a lot less resource hungry

Not sure if I have interpreted your post correctly, but I have had this problem in the past - when I try to download the file the browser tries to show the file's contents in a new window instead of downloading it. If you tried downloading IE with Firefox, try again with Safari. Or try a different download site - I have just looked at mac.oldapps.com/internet_explorer.php and have successfully downloaded IE5.2.3 with both Firefox and Safari.
