I need some 'hands on' information please about Sage Softwear.

I run my own company with DH and we need accounting softwear that meets the following:
We need to be able to keep records of customers and suppliers, do invoicing and monitor them for payment etc, but also we need stock control facilities as we will be running an on line shop which we hope to expand.

I know Sage Instant Acc Plus has these facilities, but am told that the stock control is basic. However, it is more affordable for me at the mo. But BIG question is - should I go wth Sage 50? DO I really need it now, or waitand upgrade at a later date??? help!! tHANKS

Hi divedaisy

I have used both recently and found that Instant is indeed very basic. You cant run a year end on it so after a few years all the figures can become very confusing.

I personally would go with Sage 50. bit more expensive but oh so worth it. you can update it with your prices etc so sage will always have these on when you do your invoicing. you can also do statements and remittences to send out to customers and suppliers too.

try going onto the Sage website and i think you can see a trial on there.

THanks MelT76 - I've spoken to Sage and I think for now will go with Instant Accounts Plus for a few reasons. 1)we're just starting out and finances are tight and Instannt Acc Plus is about a 1/4 or 1/3 of the price of Sage 50 Accounts Pro. 2) I want to get used to something easy to use for now and not get put off by the complex Sage 50 and finally 3) I can upgrade to Sage 50 later on for only the differnece in price.

Thanks for your experiences - and Oh (to prove how new I am to business!!) what on earth is a year end!!!

Cheers!
