Geeky stuff

Have taken lots of photos on my phone. How do I get them onto my computer?

I have about 150 photos on my phone. I know how to send them to another phone but I want to transfer them to my computer. I have absolutely no idea how to do this and the phone's instructions didn't seem to cover it.

Can anyone help me?

Bluetooth them, as lapin says you can buy a little dongle (looks like one of those memory sticks), then turn the bluetooth on the phone (and the pc) and send them. Some phones also have a computer lead that you plug into the pc.
What phone is it? You can sometimes download the transfer software from the makers website, although I just transfer them straight into adobe.

Or you could also go on photobucket.com, and send them to that website (the instructions are there), and then save those images to your computer.

what phone do you have? did it come with software? If not do you have a usb cable that will fit it? I know NOkia phones have a package oyu can download off net to enable oyu to transfer music and photos.

if your phone is a Nokia, you can use this

Thanks for all your replies. It is a Nokia so I will investigate that link. I know it has Bluetooth but I have never used it and not sure I would not where to start.

So if I can use Bluetooth do I not need a dongle? (Sorry to be so dense!)

If your computer has bluetooth (and good luck with finding out if it does or not ) then from what the others were saying, you should be able to bluetooth the images straight to the computer.

(I've bluetoothed images from phone to phone so I imagine it will be as easy as that)

But if you haven't got a blue toothy computer (and I don't think I have) then you will need a dongle thingy.

I just bought one from ebay. Be careful though because they seem to be phone specific. Glad I didn't just buy the first one I saw because there was only a minute to go (it looked like a bargain )

Good luck.

we can figure out this techno-lurgy thing together

You won't need to dongle if you use the USB lead, usually you get a lead with the phone, dh just got a new nokia and he got a lead with it. Like squonk says you will need a dongle if you are going to use bluetooth.

actually, that's not what I said.

I said you wouldn't need a dongle to bluetooth.

But am glad you corrected me, as I obviously got it wrong

my nokia doesnt ned a dongle for bluetooth ds has sent photos straight from my phone to the pc

when i do it i have a reader for the micro card and stick it in the usb slot

The dongle is for the pc not the phone btw, just realised I didn't make that clear. If the Pc doesn't have bluetooth you will need a dongle so that it can read the bluetooth signals.

right you lot...

My dongle arrived this morning.

Have installed the cd thing on the computer. All seems to have gone well. Have plugged the dongle thing itself into the side of the computer.

Have searched on my phone for new bluetooth device and it can't see it.

What have I done wrong?

You're asking the wrong person here!

I looked on my pc for bluetooth last night. I was hopeful as it came up in Help with instructions on what to do, but it just doesn't seem to be there. What's the point of instructions if they don't work?!

I will be heading off to town this weekend to ask a 13-year old sales person about dongles and I fully expect to get pitying, patronising looks and an explanation I can't understand a word of .

Squonk - good luck!

Bumping this thread, have similar issues. I can see all the pics name in a list, but seem to have to click on each individual picture to save it, involving about 10 clicks on various lists what am I missing?
