Thinking of having a website, but can what I want be done? Tech??

Hiya,

I know it can be done, just not sure if it is worth doing it!

I have my own business, and want a website advertising it. But, I also want to sell things online, which means I am going to need to have that secure thing! (Not the most technical minded person!).

I do a number of things, from being a Doula and holistic therapist, to running relaxation classes and making cross-stich things! Would love to start selling baby things - blankets, covers, maybe even cloth nappies.

Havea bad feeling it is going to be a massive website, and therefore a big cost.

Do you feel that this is the right way to go?

Thanks

Can't help with website advice but I think morningpaper builds websites. She could be your, er, mum.

My DP does websites for a living, to be able to sell you will need some sort of checkout type thingy (I'm not the most technical) and I do think this bumps up the cost a fair bit.

I'll ask him for more details later and let you know.

ahh helloooooo

yes I do websites but if you want some little paying bits then Senorapostrophe is your laydeee - try asking her?

I am not actually taking on any new projects at the moment because I am WAYY too booked up at the mo!

there are various off-the-shelf packages you can buy which might bring the cost down, have a look at some hosting sites (cjhosting.com are quite cheap) and see if shopping cart type things are included - have a feeling they are. You must know someone who could put a nice website together, even if they use FrontPage (and avoid those horrible themes!)
