Possibly a stupid question about games consoles

For my husband's 40th birthday, I've been thinking that I might buy him a games console. Amazon are selling a PS2 console for £80. Would I need to buy anything else to make it work, or will everything be included? Does it plug into the TV or the PC? What games would anyone recommend? Is that a reasonable price to pay?

Sorry, I did say these are stupid questions, but we've never owned a console before, and my husband is really keen to get one, but I don't know the first thing about them.

It plugs into the TV and you should have everything you need, although I think it depends slightly on what SCART sockets you have in your tv
