Nokia E61i - why am I racking up huge phone bills on the 3g and why does it keep saying MEMORY FULL??

HELP!! can anyone pls tell me why my bill this mth is suddenly humungous on my Nokia e61i (ten times the usual amount!!) and why my phone keeps saying the memory is full and I should delete data. I don't know what the heck is happening

have you got it set to sync with exchange for e-mail? (ie are you using push e-mail) If so then change it either to manually sync or sync every 20mins and your usage will go down a lot.

My old one used to say close an application rather than delete data, but that was when I didn't have any other apps running . Think Nokia phones are often a bit buggy.

forgot to add, the push e-mail will ALWAYS use 3G/Gprs even if you are in WiFi coverage (eg at home), but manual or timed syncing can use WiFi if it's set up right. I think a lot of people have found the push clocks up their usage as they don't realise it doesn't use WiFi

Oh yes, I forgot as well. With that model all the bookmarks also have a connection method (ie WiFi or GPRS etc), so if you have bookmarked something when you were connected on 3G and then revisit it when connected with WiFi it will open a 3G connection for that page (daft), so again you might think you are browsing using WiFi but you're not.

You can set up groups of connections to get around this, but a novice user probably wont.
