Okay, not totally sure but I would delete everything from itunes (NOT the files themselves - just the library listings) then reimport the library. Sounds like it just can't find where you moved it to because when originally imported it "filed" them as at the previous location.

(I, incidentally, have just had to do something similar as for some reason my itunes was listing everything twice, although there was only 1 mp3 file of each)

delete them eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek , from itunes itself ? I ausmme the mp3 files all stay were they are. How do I then get them back on ? Its just an interface isnt it , it wont actually delete the files on my laptop.

Backup where you keep your music files first, just in case.

Then in iTunes - highlight everything then click the delete key - it should come up with a warning saying do you want to delete the files or just the reference to them. Obviously, choose the option which DOESN'T delete the files.

Then go to Import... to tell it that the directory in question is where all the mp3 files are.

BTW, it's generally a lot easier if you keep all your music files in the My Music or Music directory

I had this problem too. I did not delete anything, but I re-imported from the new directory, and that seemed to work. I can't remember if I had to delete duplicates afterwards, but it was not too painful.
