How to download from iTunes to iPad to watch offline??

Hi,
Would like to download some of DS's favourite TV to wTch on the plane for our long haul flight.
Please HELP

Do you mean rent something from iTunes for watching later? If so, then I think there may be an issue with activation as sometimes it will want a net connection to confirm the rental period.
Or are they things you have already purchased, thus can view anytime?

iPlayer iOS App will download for watching later. So anything on that will work fine.

I have already downloaded Peppa Pig on iTunes but cannot get it to play on iPad as needs to be on the iPad to play on plane without wifi connection??
I'm hopeless at these things

On iPad, touch Videos icon. Then select TV shows. Does it then show what you have in your online library?
Mine shows PeppaPig and has a cloud in bottom right of the icon. Clicking the icon I get to see which seasons I have. Clicking one I then see which episodes I have.
Ones I can play offline do not have any icon to right of episode title.
Those which I can download have a cloud with downwards pointing arrow icon. Clicking that will download the episode.
