I have a new laptop, an HP ProBook. I am sure that I read on MN a few years ago that, in order to preserve the battery's life, you should take out a computer's battery while the computer is plugged into the mains (unless charging, obv!)
Did I make that up? If not, does the advice still hold good for current models?
