just that really. do you need it, or can I just use the Norton I have for my laptop? I am sure I have read previously that you don't need it as Apple are not vulnerable to attack. Now I write that, it does not look sensible!

AVAST do one for Android but not iOS, so I would wonder if there are any viruses currently that affect an iPad.

MacWord article (June 2014) - interesting read, may scare a bit but the conclusion is that there iOS if kept updated is not prone to viruses.

If you use your iPad a lot in Free WiFi locations, you may want to secure communications, using something like a VPN - AVAST SecureLine for iOS

Apple like to maintain the myth that iOS is not vulnerable to attack. This is, of course, untrue. There is malware for iOS. It is, however, true that most of it will only work if you jailbreak your phone so that you can install apps from sources other than the iTunes app store.

It is a good thing malware is so rare because the rules for what Apple will allow in its app store effectively ban security software. That is why no-one reputable bothers developing antivirus software for iPad or iPhone - there is no way of getting it to users.
