Minecraft on a cheap tablet?

Does anyone else have a minecraft addict? DS wants a tablet Nd then I thought I could get him of my laptop and iPhone by putting minecraft on it. I can't afford an iPad. One of my friends got a cheap tablet at Xmas which is too small for her (7") and has offered me it for £50. Does anyone know if minecraft will work on these cheap tablets? Otherwise there is no point jn me getting it! Thank you

I'm sure you can because you actually create your online online (on anything mac, pc etc) and then download the Minecraft app to have a quick log in

Can't be certain though because I don't have a tablet!

Could you ask your friend if you could test first and try and download the app?

You can use the pocket edition. We play that version on my mobile (android)

Hi my DD got a samsung galaxy tab 2 7" for Xmas. Put on the minecraft app for a fiver and she loves it. Seems to work well. Sadly though she can watch Stampy vids on YouTube. That voice! Tab was only £89 from car phone warehouse so not an expensive one.

We play the mine craft pocket edition app on our iPad and my android phone. You can't connect to the PC/Xbox/ play station versions and play on their servers (and if some has figured out a way it won't be easy) but you can play with other pocket edition versions if they are on the same home wifi network. (So she could play on the tablet and you/friend could play on the iPhone in the same world)

You can play online with other servers (and maybe her friends) on the PE servers, but you'd need to buy different apps to make that work. You will also need to buy the android version, and the Apple version of the game which is £5 each.

Double check that the tablet will play the game though before you buy. The software might need updating etc.
