Blackberry z10 or HTC windows 8S?

For my ds2 who is 11 and yr7. He smashed his phone on the way home from school yesterday, he currently has a nokia lumia something or other, when I went to buy a replacement they have gone back up in price from £150 to £440!! Looking on amazon and the possibilities for the budget are the htc windows 8s or a white blackberry z10.

He has been asking for a blackberry as his friends all have them but he prefers touch screen. The budget won't stretch to the iphone 5c or the z30. looking at £150-£160 as that's what ds has saved. He has an ipod touch new one so doesn't need the apps really as he uses that or tablet for candy crush and minecraft etc.

I should add it was an accident and hes devastated, it fell out of his pocket when he was riding his bike home.

they have just released an updated Lumia so i think the one you looked at may have been that one, phones never go back up in price. Check the model number on the phone.

I would seriously avoid any and all blackberry products, the company is going under and fast.

HTC's are decent phones but they are not doing so well as a company either, Amazon have just made noise about using them for 'amazon' phones, so i suspect they will be acquired soon too, although of the 2 phones you have mentioned HTC is better, but for your budget i would go with an android(shudder) one

The nokia was a tesco misprice in january. It should never have been £150 but I managed to get it and not have my order cancelled.

Thanks for the reply. Im a bit confused as to what to buy. Hes really keen for the blackberry and the new friends of his that ive met all do have the more traditional blackberry with the keypad. Hes desperate for bbm I am less keen.

I have an old samasung galaxy s3 but its locked to Vodafone and as technically its under contract (I won an s4 so use that) and the online unlockinh didnt work and neither did the code I brought on ebay.
Ive got the I phone 5 for my work phone and really wouldn't want him to have an iphone as they break very easily.

Would a non windows htc be better?
