Help Email in Windows 8

I'm driving myself batty, please help me!

I have successfully installed windows 8 (really wish I hadn't!) and transferred my email account to it. However, my folders didn't replicate and now I can't make new ones. So I now have hundreds of emails in my in box which is nuts.

Been on the windows help page, and it says right click in the application and then choose the 'folders' option. Only problem is that when I right click the only options that I have is pin, synchronise, move or mark as unread.

HELP!!

TIA

Are you running Outlook? If it is then there should be a heading at the top entitled 'Folder' and if you click on that there'll be a button on the top left which is labeled 'New Folder'

If it's another email programme i'm not sure. My DH has Thunderbird on his laptop but he's away at the moment so i can't check it.

Thanks - I don't think I can be running outlook - It is the mail that you click on when you are on the start page and I certainly don't have a top bar to click on Sad.
I think I would prefer outlook back, but no idea how to get that either.
Technophobe extremis here!!

Ex-H used to deal with all this stuff. I am learning (was dead proud when I installed a new computer!) but now seem to have hit my brick wall!

Do you have a copy of MS Office? If so, you'll need to install that to get Outlook back, unless you upgraded to Windows 8 rather than fresh install, in which case if you had Outlook running before, it should still be on there. Have you searched for it?

Hi Bellie,

Who is your email account with? I can try to help you set it up with the Windows 8.1 mail app.
