dd managed to drop her leappad down the stairs and the screen wont come on. We just started using it to help dd get introduced to phonics etc.

do we replace the leappad, which we know she likes, or buy a cheap tablet. If a cheap tablet can anyone recommend both tablet and decent apps

Ds (nearly 4) has an I pad mini. There's tons of educational and fun apps, he uses education city on it ( on puffin browser as it has flash) and he watches Netflix on it. It's brilliant! Also, although he's only little we've taught him too look after it and there's not so much as a scratch on it.

We bought DD1 a Leappad and now I wish we had bought a tablet. There is one on Amazon for about £60 with loads of good reviews.

My DS likes his Leappad too. Are there any on eBay? You would still be able to use the games you already have if you replace like for like.

Thanks! arrghhh I dont know. Thats why I am so conflicted. Cant afford an ipad mini or otherwise. Dd did like her leappad buy if i had to buy all the games again it would be way too expensive for what it is (though the phonics videos are great) That Amazon tablet is very very tempting but I have worries about finding decent apps and making sure she cant view or buy anything she shouldnt....

We got DD an archos tablet from Tesco for Christmas. She absolutely loves it and looks after it very well. Most android tablets have access to google play and there are loads of educational apps on there. She already had an Innotab but it doesn't get a look-in now.

Should have said...it was £100 and most of the apps are free.

DD has a blackberry playbook, it has 64gb of storage and even with her entire DVD collection/music there is still a fair amount of space left.
Android apps can be side loaded and it has a rubberised case which she finds a lot easier to hold than apple products.
We paid £90 for it a few months ago.

I think I may be convinced by the tablet. I do like the leppad and if dd was a year younger I would go for that without a doubt but I think a tablet maybe cheaper and more flexible over all now she is getting a bit older. That makes me a bit sad though
