iPad question - downloading photos?

I've just bought an ipad 3 with retina display, 16 GB, wifi only.

Just thinking about all the things I want to do with it - I have a Casio Exilim EX-Z100 10.1MP Digital Camera and would like to be able to download my photos to the ipad, also I have a Samsung Galaxy S 3 mini phone I use for photos, can I get them to my ipad? Is there a connector I need to purchase to download from camera?

Alternatively would it be easier to store photos on Dropbox and just download some for viewing with the Dropbox app (is there a Dropbox app??)?

Thanks.

Hi
I don't think you can download photos from camera to ipad. I upload them to my iMac and then you can download them from iMac to ipad through itunes. Or you can upload your photos to skydrive. dropbox etc and just view them but I think you would have to go through a computer of some type.
Am sure that someone will now come along and tell me I have been doing it wrong all this time!

Okay ... My android phone is set to automatically upload photos to dropbox so I'm happy to download from there just for viewing. Can I download photos from dropbox to the ipad so I can store a few there for repeated viewing?

Yes you can. One of these.
store.apple.com/uk/product/MD822ZM/A/lightning-to-sd-card-camera-reader?fnode=3a

There's cheaper versions on Amazon but it sure if you'd need a further adaptor due to the smaller ipad3 plug.

Also yes, you should be able to save a Dropbox pic to your ipad.

Yes, in the iPad Dropbox app, select the top right hand icon (little box with an arrow pointing down) and select Save to Camera Roll. Tadah!

The iPad 3 doesn't have the new connector, if your iPad has one of those it's a 4th generation one.

Ooh yes, good point. In which case, one of the cheapos of Amazon should do the job.

Hi,
If you have the ipad with the big connector, then yes. If it has the smaller connector, then you need a further adaptor. HTH.
