Windows 8 Update

Had a Windows Update , Need to Restart message . So I postponed it until I was due to go out, set pc to Restart & Install but when it tried to Configure Windows Updates it seemed to get caught in a loop at 15% and go back to Restart . Must have managed it eventually as it had reached the Start page by my return but is this usual ? Old pc with XP used to restart itself during the night so I don't know if this ever happened to it.

I've seen them take a while on occasion. How long were you out?

About half an hour so could have been ok the 3rd time round (when I left) or many times after!
