Does anyone have a Windows Surface?

DD2 was given a laptop for Christmas. This is partially for use for doing school work. We also expected her to want to download music, watch the iPlayer, go on the internet, email friends, etc

Unfortunately, although it is a well known brand, there have been problems with it from day 1, and we are going to return it, and have been promised a refund.

So, she has asked for a Windows Surface, instead. We would get it with the type cover, rather than the touch cover, as I think this would be more useful for schoolwork. She can touch type.

Does anyone have one? Is the version of Office suitable for school. Is it possible to put Publisher on it, or would this use too much space? Any other comments about it?
