Who has a heated greenhouse?

Is it worth it?

DH tells me that there is a heater in mine (I thought it was a light), but it is ancient. It would mean plugging in an extension lead, which I find a little dodgy. Anyway, I was just wondering if it was worth heating the greenhouse or if I should just stick to my little propogator (or get a bigger one) and the window sill. The advantage of having the seeds indoors is that I dont forget to water them.

I dont want to grow anything in the greenhouse really, just start the seeds off before putting them outside in my patch.

Hi. We had a heater in our greenhouse last year, but to have it on all the time through the cold spell it really drank up all the kerozone or whatever you put in it (greenhouse is DH's baby).

He has since got rid of it and bought an electric propogator which is now sat upon the window sill of this computer room.

Like you say, it is easier to remember to water the seeds when you can see them.

Thats what I thought. I dont think I can really justify heating the whole greenhouse for the measly amount I grow.
Thanks bella

Heating a greenhouse is not very green if you don't really need to.
