How to grow hyacinths indoors?

I don't remember it being complicated www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/basics/techniques/houseplants_hyacinth1.shtml when I did it as a child - we planted them straight into a bowl and kept them in the wardrobe. Or am I remembering it wrong? Will the wardrobe be too warm and do I have to grow them in pots before transferring them to the bowl?

you can do them straight in the bowl

easiest way is to do them in water in a jam jar though

they smell! my moms mil gave her some they looked really pretty but the dog was put outside a lot! and everyone got on all fours checking if the dog had done his business inside!

Wardrobe probably to warm. I wrap mine in newspaper and keep them in a shed. Don't forget to check them every so often, they may need a little water.
