almost anything really - put up a trellis and grow stuff up that - russian vine for speed and determination, clematis for beauty, honeysuckle for scent [halls prolific is my favourite], roses with thorns to teach the kids to stay on the trampoline.

or for a bit of variety, how about a row of raspberries and get fruit off them too, ur runner beans (a bit late this year) or sweet peas

or a a nicer herbaceous border full of giant perennials like maclaya cordata, angelica, joe pye weed, thalictrum, verbena bonariansis, and some tall grasses. will disappear in winter though

and for the icing on the cake, hire a mini digger and a skip and dig a big hole and sink the trampoline in that! bunny guinness has instructions in one of her books.

Bamboo. Grows like wildfire, looks fab and is a brilliant screen.

Quite expensive initially though (of and make sure you get a 'clump forming' rather than a spreading one..)

Yes, or you can plant it directly into the ground. If you do wan to plant a spreading variety, make sure you plant it with the roots surrounded by an non-perishable barrier so that the roots can't spread too far and allow bamboo shoots to appear all over your garden !

Have a look on Crocus.co.uk. They have some deals on Bamboo atm, I think. I've used them before, they are great. Very reliable and the plants are in great condition

My MIL uses bamboo to screen part of her garden from next door. She bought the clump forming Bamboo and dug them into the ground whilst still inside big plastic containers (to contain the spread)

Looks fab. She bought quite big plants so had instant results.

Me on the other hand, I bought some shrubs last year to screen my trampoline and it look like it will be a few years before it is hidden! sigh.
