HELP - What do I do re growing sunflowers?

DD was given a little pot (around 2" across and 2" deep) at preschool in which they had "planted" some sunflower seeds.

I've obviously done something right asd I now have around half a dozen green stalks with a few leaves on the end!! The stalks are around 4" long and are bending under the weight of their own leaves

NOW WHAT DO I DO?????

Do I put them in a bigger pot adding more compost around the existing stuff or what?

Any advice/help gratefully received

Repot them into individual pots. You will need to prick each seedling out gently, put it into a pot of fresh compost, press firmly around each seedling, then water well. As they're so tall it might be worth repotting them slightly deeper than they are now, so you have less stalk above the surface of the pot.

It should probably have been done earlier, which is why they are so leggy, but they'll still be OK if you repot them now. You can use small sticks to support them if you like. It might be worth putting them outside during the day as well, so that they don't grow too leggy straining for sunlight. That will also harden them off for when they go outside.

Once they are well established and all danger of frost is passed you can plant them outside.

Thank you.

We've only had to pot a short while (no morethan 2 weeks) and they seemed to get to this size ovrenight!!

They are on a sunny window ledge (in the kitchen) and all I've done so far is water them.

I'll see if I can get some more pots tomorrow. - Will let you know how I get on!!
