Where's best to buy a cherry tree and decorative pebbles?

Hi

I'm in Lanarkshire, Scotland and we'd like to plant a cherry tree in a new border and have decorative pebbles around it. Went to Sandyholm garden centre yesterday but pebbles seemed expensive and not a great selection of cherry trees. So, can anyone recommend where to get these?

I'm also looking for neat small bush type plants - no idea what they're called but the sort of things that you only need to prune a bit but that are evergreens so make borders look tidy.
