Hi I have a wonderful quite large bay tree that is loosing its nice round shape, mil used to do this for me every year but she is not up to the job anymore and I'm terrified of doing it myself in case i make a mess or worst end up killing it! does anyone have a tip for pruning round shapes ?

I did mine by cutting a bit off, standing away and judging if a bit more needed to come off.

Mines growing a lot of new shoots, even if you did clip a bit too much off it would soon grow back.

You can buy cages that you out around the tree and it grows over the cage and you cut it to near the cage iyswim
