Lawn - Turf or Seed?

We have a small patch at the front of the house that we have just cleared. It's no more than 2m squared. It's pretty shady and will be mostly for show. There is currently a mixture of perennials with a few annuals in borders. I'm in two minds about how to do the lawn, turf or seed. It's so small that we would only need a roll of turf which seems pretty hard to get hold of or go through all the fuss of seed, knowing that we could use a more expensive seed and still save a bit more money.

I'm not scared of the work just wonder and hope someone who knows of the best method for such a small area.

If you can get good quality turf that's for shade then do that. Otherwise a good seed mix would be best. I think it's more important for you to get a turf that will take the conditions, however that is most easily obtained.

Seed and get a mix for shade; turf is easier but unless you can get it specially grown for shade it won't be as happy in the long run.

I would consider putting a nice stone/ gravel down, almost seems to small to bother mowing imo, also even with a shade specific grass the moss will take over eventually.

I would agree with gooner - I would put down some nice gravel/stone instead of turf. if its in the shade most of the day it will only last a 4/5 yrs before it will start looking poorly.
