What lawnmower for a fairly big (flat) garden?

We are moving to a house with 1000m2 garden (not all lawn, some is the drive) - probably about 700-800m2 of lawn which is well-maintained and flat.

Someone recommended a Husqvarna 1535 or similar. Quite pricey at 490 quid. My dad who has been using his Aldi lawnmower on their huge (and slopey) garden for years with no problems would probably baulk at this price!

I have zero idea. Any recommendations? I think we would need a mulching one. We live in France but can buy in UK - might be cheaper.

TIA

Our garden is 0.7 acres and we use a Mountford petrol mower. I think it cost around £200.

we have a husqvarna tractor mower and it's rubbish. I doubt that damns the brand, but I'd never go there again.
If it is flat and regular shaped, for that price you can get the robot mowers that the Roomba vacuum people make...

we have a Honda 21" izy (HRG 536SD) and it was expensive - we have about 400sqm of grass and it can take about 30 minutes to cut. the bigger mountfield lawnmowers seem to use Honda engines and are a little cheaper - I don't really think bigger machines are particularly cheap from anyone.

if you want lines on your lawn you will need to buy one with a roller on the back, these are even more expensive than the std rotary mowers.
