How much are tree surgeons/WWYD?

My neighbour at the back has a tree which grows over onto my garden (one branch, approximately 3m high). In the recent storms it blew about and broke our new trellis. I really want to go round and tell them to lop the thing down.

I have to repair the trellis as otherwise foxes come and crap all over my lawn.

But, my neighbour is an ancient old lady..we've never met. I sometimes hear her pushing a manual lawn mower around. I don't want to worry her Hmm

You can cut it yourself if it's in your garden Smile

Was there no communication with said old lady when the branch brought your trellis down? Opportunity for an ice breaker if you've never spoken to each other.

We've had several trees / overgrown shrubs removed from our garden since moving in nearly 3 years ago. Can recommend fantastic and very reasonably priced tree surgeon in east Devon! For the last lot of work - removing a eucalyptus that was taller than the house and two huge overgrown shrubs - we paid £100. Make sure you get at least 3 quotes (on anything - my dad's advice that's always stayed with me) and make sure they're a properly qualified tree surgeon, not just white van man with chain saw.

Perhaps suggest sharing cost with the old lady?

Yes I would just get the branch removed myself.
