Do you scarifying your lawns?

Ours is turf, layed over 6 months ago but it looks a bit thatchy in places and I'm worried that if I give it a good raking it will ruin the lawn.

I think dh set the mower a bit low yesterday.

yes. best to do in autumn, i have a machine. but i don't think i would do yours yet as the roots won't have got really established and you might pull it all out. maybe in a years time

Right, I will put one on my amazon wish list and get some autumn lawn feed.

if its a very small lawn you can do it by hand with a wire rake. i am lazy. if you are really keen you are suppossed to wiggle a garden fork around in the compacted bits and brush sand into the holes. again, i'm too lazy.

Lawn care companies will come and do it with a machine for a one-off £50. Currently mulling over whether I can organise it without dh noticing justify the expense this year.
