Weed removal tool? Which one to go for?

Hi Gardeners,
I've seen those weed removal tools on telly, the ones which seem to twist out the roots. They have a long handle so are meant to be kind to your back. You push it into the ground, twist it and voila!
Has anyone used this sort of tool, or anything similar, preferably with a back friendly long handle? What do you think of them? Can you recommend one?
Thanks from a v new gardener with a v rubbish lawn to sort out!

We have the Fiskars. It's good but only for big weeds and if you have sticky soil like ours it will also take out a clump with it meaning you'll have to shake off the excess by hand or there will be holes in your lawn! Also if you have an area with lots of stones it won't always work as the stones get in the way and you can't get a grip around the weed.
I still like it though as it works when needed, but we also use a combination of weed and feed and inevitably getting on hands and knees to pull the smaller weeds out.
Good luck!

We've got one called Speedy Weedy, the head has three short prongs that you push in, twist the handle round, then lift out and it has an ejector thing so you can pop them in a bucket. We bought it for dandelions in the lawn but two problems, one is all the plugs of soil that come out (spoils the look of the lawn and needs getting off the roots) secondly it just snaps the roots off, so its a very short term fix. It seems quite flimsy but only cost about £8.

DD (8) loves using it. What it is brilliant for is getting weeds out from in between plants in borders, we get a lot of creeping buttercup and it gets those out a treat.

Has anyone tried the wolf weed extractor? I just saw it in the home base website and wondered.
