Walked past some plants today and one had a glorious smell just like Battenberg cake. I really want one for my garden. Any ideas what it might be?

Could be the tender annual Heliotrope which smells of cherry pie/Marzipan/vanillan.

My namesake Mignonette has a raspberry/vanilla scent too.

There was a. If bush nearby with little yellow Pom Pom flowers but I don't know if that was where the smell came from. It was divine!

Cytisus Battandieri- the Pineapple Broom or Buddleja Globosa. Have a google at photos as could be either of those.

I don't think it was either of those. Any other? Wish I'd taken a pic.

Wow! I saw your thread title and my mouth started watering! I really want one too, now!

But they are Acacia trees, right? There's loads of different types, anyone know the smelliest? And, do you have to grow in a greenhouse?
