Bloody decking!

I moved into my house 7 months ago and have slipped on my decking 3 times. I now have a bruise on my leg and I'm worried that I'll do more damage somehow. Is there anything I can use to stop that?

You can try an anti slip coating. Cuprinol does one, so do Liberon and Blackfriars.
You'll need to thoroughly clean the wood first, I think.

I've seen people cover it with chicken wire too .

Ours was like this after the winter. Quick scrub with washing up liquid and its not slippy at all now.

Think soda crystals in solution work too.

You need to regularly clean it or it gets slippy. We pressure wash ours about 3 times a year and it stops it from being too bad.

It only took me an hour to do the whole lot - get a short stiff brush and you'll prob do it in half the time

ours was slippery too. we bought a water jet cleaner which solved it. had to paint it afterwards though.

Jet was it then use decking oil. It is only slippery because it needs a good clean but once cleaned will need oiling. Just had ours done professionally, it wasn't expensive and looks like new now. He advised cleaning it every spring and oiling it every two years.
