What is this flower?

4 curious but very pretty flowers have grown in my garden that I haven't seen before, I can't take a pic at the moment, but I wonder if someone could help identify?

They are basically just a stem with the flower at the top. The only leaves are like a ruffle just under the flower. The flower is a lovely purple, about 10cm tall. One of them has opened and I see it has a purple centre too. There are 7 petals on it and they are roundish.

??

I've got an anemone that sounds just like that. (now you can google that and see if it looks the same Smile

I looked at the anemone blanda images on google, but they had different colour petals to insides, and the petals were more elongated.
What colour is your anemone? Is it all the same?

Just had another google of just anemone, and that is what it is. It's lovely. I must have planted them with other bulbs and completely wiped it from my mind. Weird.

It sounds like a wind flower (don't know real name.) They are every ephemeral, appear and then vanish til next year. They do have leaves, but flowers rise up above them so leaves not very obvious.
