WWYD - wrong rose??

I have a small garden and like roses. I worked out I could have 5 roses altogether. I have had one in for years and I picked a further four. I went to my local (very good) garden centre and got the ones I wanted. They have now been in the bed for about 2-3 months. The problem is that one has flowered and I don't know what it is but it isn't what I bought! I chose a Burgundy Ice. I already have pink roses, I chose the burgundy as the flowers were gorgeous and it was going at the bottom of the garden so the scent didn't matter (I have a Gertrude Jekyll near my back door for smell Grin). There are a lot of buds on it, about 11 but the problem is the flowers are not attractive. They are pink and small.

I don't know whether to ring the garden centre and let them know or just buy another rose but I don't want this one to be just dug up!!

Would you ring the garden centre and let them know or just suck it up? If it was very pretty I would probably keep it but it is not my kind of thing at all. OTOH the amount of buds on it would suggest its quite happy where it is and I would feel bad pulling it up Smile. Im a big softy though!

Oh I couldn't face digging them up. Do they still have the plant labels on? If so photograph the label and the flowers and query with the garden centre. Especially if you paid more for it.
Where are you -roses flowering in November?

I know. Id feel awful digging it up!! I rang the garden centre. They were very nice about it given it was such an odd problem. They havent asked for any proof (tbf I have been going there for years). They said they didnt have any burgundy ones in at the mo but they will find one and ring me to come and collect it. That still leaves me with the pink imposter :-). I might just have to try and clear some space in a bed so I can keep both. Its not what I wanted but its a cheery little thing. I dont like not knowing what it is though.

I live in the north east. I have a very sheltered garden though and it hasnt been cold here yet. 2 of my roses are flowering at the moment. Both pink!! The other one isnt flowering nearly as spectacularly as this one. Dont think ive got the heart to dig it up but I really wanted the burgundy one Grin
