Changing College after first year of A-levels?

My son is 16, and is doing four A-levels at the local college. We are considering moving house by the end of this academic year, but that would mean he'd have to do his second year of A-levels at a different college. The courses are not all from the same exam board.

Is this likely to have a very negative impact on his studies? Has anyone done this, and how did it work out?

I'm not even sure it's possible. Would he sit AS before moving?

Is there no way he could stay at the same college? Maybe 'lodge' with a friend mon-fri?
