Going to Support groups

My county is split into sections, North, "City"+West and South. We come under North officially. Problem is this means that most of the 2 hour support groups take an hour in the car (on a good day) so a two hour travel for a 2 hour support group seems pretty harsh. Where as the City+west groups are all 20-40 mins drives each way depending on where they are. Do you think we will be able to ask to attend those ones instead? Just seems stupid.

I would imagine that your SSW would be able to answer better than any of us to be honest!
Hope you find out easily! An hours journey does seem long way!

Yes i think i will ask him, though we only met him 2 weeks ago for the first time and then again last friday and he's told us he is leaving as he was only ever meant to be here on a temp contract for 6 weeks (6 months ago) so we only have him till the end of June and our new social worker doesn't start till end of July. Fun times ahead!

Ask the manager, it only seems fair for you to attend the closest meeting. My SSW has eastern area, but lives near me (I'm central/north-west) and I always go to central area meetings which are run by a different SSW. This shouldn't be a problem but the manager should make the decision for you. Good luck!
