Pleaseeee can anybody HELP ME!!!! I have to complete my cwdc evidence workbook and I would very much appreciate if somebody could email me a completed booklet to get me started ([email protected]). My social worker I'm sad to say is not much help and to be honest I don't hear from her much as I haven't of yet got a foster child. I also have no contact in my local area of any other foster carers and as I work I tend to miss all the meetings with local foster carers as they are held in the day. It's the actual termanology I'm struggling with the most and I'm truely asking for a guide and support only and not for use to copy. Many Thanks!!!! :)

I guess you'd need to have a child placed with you to write the evidence - because if you don't then you don't have the evidence.. I would look online for tips on things you can start to collect / write already like: www.training4carers.co.uk/8.html
www.skillsforcare.org.uk/Document-library/Qualifications-and-Apprenticeships/Apprenticeships/CWDCInductionStandardsSCworkbook.pdf

Also look at Harrow Council website, they have PDF files for each of standards that help understand what's needed there..

Does your LA/IFA not require you to attend meetings and training? We have support group meetings every month and have to attend at least 9 in a year. It would be helpful and also you could include that as evidence for towards standard 7 + it does actually allow you to get a lot of info, especially if you're just starting (I really enjoy these meetings, learnt a lot!)
If you're not seeing your SSW much - email her or call her and ask to come and meet you, it's their job to arrange supervising meetings with carers. You can always email her your questions.

Hi and thanks Kittymonkeymummy for taking the time and trouble to message me. I actually work in education fulltime (Early Years) and could complete the book with lots of work evidence but struggling with the termanology. However my SSW told me I had to link it to my foster child (had mixed views if this is actually true as I have been told I can give examples by others). I really haven't been inpressed with my SW and to be honest I don't have much respect for her or the whole process so far as I'm always having to chase her up for things that she should be informing me. :(
I have completed my induction training skipping first aid as I have just completed a paediatric first aid course through work. As nearly all training is held in the day including cluster ones for foster carers to meet I have never been able to attend so miss often.
I wiil check out the sites you shared and once again thank you. :)
