The recipe i was using had 1lb (3 cups) flour, 1 sachet dried yeast, + sugar, salt, water, oil - quantities guessable. I've tried the web but everything has Marg/butter, not oil.

Can anyone help? Pleeeease

Thanks - if it works for you I'll give it a go if you have time to find it. Probably worth some new recipes anyway

recipe for large basic white

Yeast 1 tsp
Strong white flour 500g (1lb 2oz)
sugar 1tbsp
butter 25g (1oz)
milk powder 1.5 tbsp
salt 1.5 tsp
water 350ml

This is a 4 hour normal bake programme recipe. It tastes good with an open texture, personally I like the rapid bake textures as they're a bit more 'firm'!!
Hope that this helps you

Mine only has butter or marg too, but I use 3 tablespoons of olive oil instead of butter. Off the top of my head:

220ml water
3 tbsps olive oil (or 3 ounces butter)
1.5 tsps salt
3.75 cups bread flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp milk powder
1.5 tsp dried yeast.
